Modifying and Cleaning a Salty Frame
The frame of my Jeep has seen rust belt winters, sand, salt, mud, and driven through floods during tornadoes. Up first was the new frame engine mounts needed to be welded in place using a crusty old welder with feed issues and problems with consistency. The right rear upper control arm mount was the only frame damage on this from slamming down on a rock at some point. Just a bit of banging was enough to make it acceptable again. All of the rust was cleaned, prepared, coated in POR-15, and top coated for UV light protection.
